Cherry platter with cerulean blue milk paint exterior finish. Hand-finished with a non-toxic, food-safe, allergen-free, walnut oil and beeswax.
This plate was rough out in a beginner's woodturning class I teach. I finished it off after class and added a pop of color to the exterior. There was a small crack due to a defect in the wood which was filled and gilded over with gold leaf. A decorative foot was turned to provide stability and interest to the bottom. Beautiful and functional, just how I like my dinnerware. Sold as a set of 1.
